Join us on December 8 for Feliz NaviMOB!

Yup.  The Ca$hMob crew is at it again.  And we have some pretty amazing surprises in store for mobbers this time — but you’ll have to show up & shop to find out!  Make plans to come out to Main Street Market in Charlottesville on Saturday, December 8 at 2 pm for Feliz NaviMOB. We’re flooding facebook and twitter with posts about this one — rsvp here on our event wall, and help us spread the word to make this mob truly memorable!

Our mob target is Main Street Market, a delectable collection of locally-owned and operated shops with something for everyone!  Check out their blog here.

AND — there’s something special in store for mobbers who are ‘in the know’:  The first 80 cashmobbers who show up to the mob wearing something festive/silly/holiday-y will get a special gift from our friends at the UPS Store.  So deck yer halls, y’all, and come on down to Feliz NaviMOB!

JPA Fast Mart

JPA Fast Mart

Look what this construction project has done to this convenience store parking lot. Not very convenient, eh?

Come join us on Saturday, May 26th when we mob all FIVE businesses at the JPA bridge construction: Wayside Barber Shop, Hoo’s Brew, JPA Fast Mart, Durty Nelly’s/Wayside Deli, and Wayside Takeout & Catering. Everyone in town is coming to support these hard-working business owners who have endured months of heavy equipment right outside their door.

Here’s a little promo video we put together just for you:

Meet-Up Location for CashMob Cville; Chapter 2!

We’re ready to do it again, Charlottesville!  Our meet-up location has been announced – (thanks for playing along, Charlottesville Tire!)

1:00 pm on Saturday, April 28th, we’ll assemble at Charlottesville Tire, 843 West Main Street (across from where they park those colorful Wahooptie taxis).   Then we’ll march together to the target location (yes, we’re gonna keep that a secret).

Things to bring…

  • Make sure to stop by the ATM and grab some cash, $20, on your way to the meet-up location
  • Rain-gear, we won’t be outside for too long but for our stroll to the store an umbrella or poncho might be a good item to bring just in case

And please plan to join us for the afterparty – a little mid-afternoon nosh & slosh is just what the CashMob doc ordered!

RSVP on the facebook event page, and you won’t miss any late-breaking details!

Radio Dazed

Friday morning – and most of the cat is out of the bag after our interview on WINA with Rick & Jane.  Miss it?  Listen here.

The meet-up spot is the Pavilion at 5:00 on Saturday!

Thursday morning, the Cash Mob Charlottesville crew were on 106.1 the Corner with Brad Savage, as guests of former Mayor Dave Norris.  Miss it?  Listen to the podcast here.  We just love hearing how people are getting excited about the Cash Mob.  Bob Fenwick and his snazzy CA$H MOB shirt have been traipsing around Charlottesville, talking it up and turning it into a party.

We’re gettin’ around!

The Cash Mob Charlottesville crew held a press event at the Freedom of Speech wall on the Downtown Mall this morning, and let a few hints out about our first mob target.  About 50 businesses have been nominated (!) – but even those sleuth reporters didn’t get the name of our target from us.  Check out NBC29′s coverage here

Why all the mystery?  Well, we hope you’ll come along for the ride — wherever the ride takes us.  It’s all in the name of supporting a local business, so if that train sounds like you want to climb aboard — c’mon!

And while you’re scratching your heads, wondering where the first mob will be, we’ll be talking it up on 106.1 The Corner on Thursday morning with Brad Savage and former Mayor Dave Norris at around 8:50.

Then, we’ll announce the meet-up location on WINA with Rick & Jane around 9:30 on Friday morning.  Then… look out world…. we’ll be blabbing the meet-up location all over facebook & twitter.

Afterparty plans are in place.  Our non-profit partner is set.  We even have a little cashmob swag for the first 75 people who show up!~  Come join us for a fun night of local biz lovin’.

Double the warm fuzzies by supporting our non-profit partner!

The Cash Mob team has been working on adding yet another layer to the levels of goodness.  Think of this piece as the nuts on the sundae.  We’re going to partner with a different community non-profit organization for each mob, and give you, fellow mobster, the opportunity to learn more about what they do — and to make a simple contribution that might just rock their world, too!

For our first mob event on March 24th, we are partnering with The Shelter for Help in Emergency.  This amazing organization works wonders in our community, not only helping victims of domestic violence, but also creating a community of support for victims.  They do it all:  24 hour hotline, shelter services, counseling, legal advocacy, children’s programs, and more –  and, like most non-profits, they stretch their dollars pretty darn far.

On March 24th, we’ll have a representative from S.H.E. on hand for a little show and tell about their valuable services to the community.  Here’s how you can help S.H.E. keep doing the great work they’re doing in Charlottesville:

  • Drop off an item from their “Shelter Wish List” (just bring it with you to the cash mob – we’ll have a collection bin on site).  Biggest needs?  Toiletries (think basics: toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo), diapers, and laundry detergent are always in demand.
  • Slip a few bucks into the collection box – we all know the value of cold, hard cash.
  • Give the most precious gift of all: your time!  S.H.E. has many volunteer opportunities, and if you’ve got a little time to spare, they’ll get you started.

Share the love, peeps… share the love.  :-)

Are you ready to join us on a fun ride?
