Previously, Cash Mob has focused on small businesses and partnered with a non-profit organization on each event. This time, the target will BE the non-profit: The Independence Resource Center, which sponsors the Cardinals.
Our community has been deeply affected by the The Great Recession. Businesses large and small, families, even The University of Virginia have all felt the financial pressure. Sometimes overlooked, non-profits, which in themselves provide jobs, as well as community support in many different areas, have also been hit by dwindling financial contributions. This Cash Mob will give our community the opportunity to meet and support a truly inspiring group of men and women as they represent community spirit in the true sense of the words.
The Mob will gather at Walker Middle School gym at the end of Rose Hill Drive on Saturday, October 13th, at 1PM. The Charlottesville Cardinals will host the team from Charlotte for a double header, tip-off for first game at 2PM.
Bring as much noise as you want, and of course, a little cash.
